Public Hearing on Land Use Bylaw Amendment
A public hearing on the proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendment was held. Bylaw C-1100-176 mandates school site amenities such as sports fields, play areas, etc., a condition of development. Council gave Bylaw C-1100-176 second and third reading.
Revisions to Snow Removal and Ice Control Policy 606 Approved
Council approved the revisions to the Snow Removal and Ice Control Policy 606 recommended by Public Works Committee. Revisions include the introduction of an Extreme Winter Conditions Operations Mode, which changes operations schedule to provide intensified services in the event of a major snow fall. Revisions also include plan to hire contractors and implementation of a communications plan for the Snow Removal and Ice Control Program.
Tender for Snow Removal and Ice Control materials Awarded
Council awarded Tender T-40-546-11 for Ice Control Material (Sand) to Wapiti Gravel Suppliers Ltd. for the amount of $165,300 (excluding GST).
Council awarded Tender T-41-546-11 for Bulk Highway Salt to NSC Minerals Inc. for the amount of $250,215 (excluding GST)
Wireless Request for Proposal Awarded
Council awarded Request for Proposal 25-215-10 for the Outdoor Wireless WiFi Network to Binary Solutions Ltd for the amount of $259,821.90 (excluding GST). This sum will cover equipment, services, training and extended warranty for the outdoor wireless project.

New Schedule for Council & Committee Meeting
Council established alternate Mondays at 6:30 p.m., half an hour earlier than current council meeting time, as the new time for regular council meetings, effective following the Oct. 17 Organizational Meeting.
Also effective following the Oct. 17 Organizational Meeting:
· Public Works Committee and Community Development Committee meetings will be held on alternate Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively
· Protective Services Committee and General Government Services meetings will be held on alternate Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. respectively
· Environment Committee meetings will be held monthly on Mondays at 2:00 p.m.
Council has also decided to incorporate a two-week summer break in the Council and Standing Committee meeting schedule.
